Your time is also always appreciated. We host regular garden sales to sell the items that were generously contributed, and we also meet regularly to package together our despensas (food and basic necessities) for our local families.

Sponsor A Family

We recently introduced a very special program where you can “Sponsor a Family”, choose a family profile from our website, and commit to a monthly donation for their particular needs and follow their journey, getting to know them and watch your support bless their lives!

Breath Of Life Ministry is a passion project that was formed in 2020 by Michele Avila to help the impoverished families in Playa del Carmen (especially single mothers) who have needed help due to uncontrollable circumstances in their critical time of need. At first they bought groceries with personal money they could spare, but during the pandemic, more people came for help with no way to feed their children, and they had to start raising money to help cover the needs of the community.

The Breath of Life Ministry has now grown to provide bi-weekly grocery distributions to families in critical need, a weekly women's support group, teaching life and business skills, providing emotional and domestic violence support, weekly Sunday School for children, teaching Christian values and social skills, back to school support, emergency medical support, and Holiday Celebrations and Gift Giveaways for the children.

Christmas

As Christmas fast approaches yet again, we have two main initiatives that we are launching to help meet our community needs, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are looking for help gathering gifts for our Christmas and Dia de Reyes Celebrations for the children in the community.

We are looking for establishments or organizations who might HOST a TOY DRIVE at their location or meeting. (all donations should be unwrapped).

We will provide a list of special needs and ages and a Christmas wrapped box to collect donations, with signage about our organization and who we serve.

If the toy drive is at a specific meeting, we can also provide a member of our organization to come say a few words about Breath of Life and what we do. We are looking for any restaurants willing to donate any amount of refreshments, and paper & plastic ware, for our two Christmas Celebrations. (Dec.21 and Jan 4).

We are accepting cash donations toward our holiday and weekly community support.

Cash Donations

Of course, cash donations are always very gratefully received and can go a long way to helping our local community as we may even be able to arrange discounts on food and necessities when paying by cash.
